Open sessions
Dusty Banjos have a monthly session on the first Saturday of each month in Arus na nGael, Dominick Street. The pace of the tunes is faster than at the student sessions, but the same friendly atmosphere prevails, and everyone is encouraged to participate. Sessions start at 10pm.
In addition to Dustys sessions, there are others in Galway that welcome improvers. Current sessions are:
The weekly session with Sean in Murty Rabbitts pub on Forster St, (across from the tourist office), on Thursdays at 9.30pm. Nice pub, friendly staff, come along and bring your friends!
Thursdays in the Western Hotel, Prospect Hill, at 9.30pm. (Contact Michael on 091 512199 for info).
Occasional Saturday evenings in the Crane bar - This session is not every Saturday at the moment, so for up-to-date information contact Brendan McDermott on 087 904 2653.
Connemara: Sessions on most Wednesday and Saturday nights in Oliver's Bar, Cleggan, with Heather, Mary & friends. Dates for July are the 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th (Weds) & 10th, 17th, & 24th (Sat) . Musicians welcome!
