ARTS COUNCIL GRANT FOR DUSTYS!

Dustys has been awarded a grant of €5000 by the Arts Council, under the Deis scheme.

In our proposal (successfully written by Heather) we requested €6,410, to cover costs including recording, mixing & mastering, design & printing, production, project management, PR, etc. So we are delighted with this award, which will cover most of our costs. And which recognises Dustys as a great community project!

CD NEWS: Dustys Recording

48 musicians took part in our  recording in the Crane on 24th January…Many thanks to each of you, and well done!

We were in the studio on 16 & 17 Feb, mixing the tracks. We were back again on March 9 & 10, making a total of around 32 hours. With so many musicians and mikes there was a lot of editing to be done!

Mid-April: We were now at the next stage, which is the mastering and all the artwork.

Early June: We've had a slight hitch for several weeks, delaying the final production. But hopefully that's all sorted & we're back on track!

More asap...

Dustys 6th Birthday Party Videos

Dustys 6th birthday was on Monday, Sept 8th, in the Crane bar, Sea Rd.

MC for the night was our very popular flute player and storyteller Brendan Hynes, and there were performances from upcoming young Irish singers Jenny Mulvey and Steve Gormley, fiddle and guitar duo Sara and Brendan McDermott (US/Ireland) and fiddler Jeroen Blanke (Belgium). This was followed by the usual giant session, open to all and filling the house with musicians!

Thanks a million to everyone who took part; to Maurice, Heather & Yvonne for filming and photos, and to Mick Crehan and the staff of the Crane. Another great night of music!
