Group classes are currently on a break, but check back for details of when they will start again. When happening, they take place on Monday evenings from 7-9pm, upstairs in Richardson's, Eyre Sq. The classes are suitable for all melody instruments, and are fairly fast-paced (not for total beginners). Generally we will learn 2 or 3 tunes, usually in a set, which would be played regularly at the open sessions.
Sheet music is provided, though ability to read is not essential, and the classes can be recorded for learning at home. Cost is €8 per night.
The following tunes are from the Spring 2007 classes:

One-to-one banjo and mandolin classes take place all year round, and are taught by experienced musician and teacher Mary Lovett. You will need your own instrument! (If you do not have one, and would like to try one out before buying, this can be arranged). Classes take place in the city centre, at times that suit the student. They are for anyone from complete beginners up to a good standard, (adult beginners are especially welcome) and cost €20 euro for around half an hour.
